Soft Animal

Soft Animal is a story about womanhood, motherhood, and the bodies we call home. When two strangers - a new mother, and a survivor of sexual assault - meet on a city bus late at night, their individual struggles to reclaim their bodies unfold in a duet of intimate vignettes.
Lena is a queer, unapologetic woman who was made to feel small by a man 10 years ago and has since blames herself for the encounter. Kemi is a writer who recently had her first child and struggles to balance her impending deadline with caring for her child, who she loves but is feeling a loss of self. Both women run into each other on a night bus and quietly have a joint sense of understanding of the other.
