Gattaca is a dystopian sci-fi film set in a future society where genetic engineering determines people’s roles in life. The story follows Vincent Freeman, a man born naturally with genetic imperfections, who dreams of traveling to space despite being deemed “invalid.” To achieve his goal, Vincent assumes the identity of a genetically superior man, Jerome, and secures a position at the prestigious Gattaca space agency. As he races against time to avoid being discovered, the film explores themes of genetic determinism, identity, and the human spirit’s ability to defy societal limitations.
